ITC GreenToCompete Hub Laos partcipated in Made in Laos expo – an annual trade fair that showcases Laos best local goods, organized by Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI).

This year the trade fair was held from 19th of February to 28th February 2022 at Lao ITECC Exhibition Hall, Vientiane Capital, Laos; and joined by 127 companies from 17 provinces and 201 booths.

The main purpose of the event was to boost the promotion of Laotian products and Laos tourism as part of the post-Covid economic recovery plan.

Fourteen small and medium enterprises (SMEs) beneficiaries of the GreenToCompete Hub took part in the expo, namely:

  • Bokeo Tea Cooperative
  • Pavina Agriculture Development
  • Agro Asie Group
  • Agriculture Development Group (ADG)
  • Cooperative of Sustainable Eco Coffee
  • Khob Chai Coffee
  • Saybua Rice Mill
  • Yodsame Rice Mill
  • Society Development of Forest Ext-Impt LPB Ltd
  • Cooperative of Agriculture and Agro – Tourism (CAAT)
  • Dao Coffee Factory Co.,LTD
  • Sinouk coffee
  • The Bolaven Plateau Coffee producers Cooperative (CPC)

These SMEs showcased agricultural goods such as tea, coffee and rice in the expo. These companies have been trained by the GreenToCompete Hub on Voluntary Sustainable Standard (VSS), Positioning Product & E-Commerce, and Trade Fair Preparation training.

Around 500 visitors attended the trade fair that was opened by H.E. Phankham Viphavan, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR; Dr. Khampheng Saysompheng, Minister of Industry and Commerce; and Mr. Oudet Souvannavong, President of LNCCI.

The fair provided an ample opportunity for SMEs to promote their products and programmes to potential buyers and partners in the region.
